Meet Your PTA

The PTA members for the 2025/26 School Year

Bill Coelius - President

Bill Coelius is the PTA President. The Haldane school system prompted him and his family to move to Cold Spring over a decade ago. He considers it a great honor to help support the teachers, admin, and parents of this astounding community. In his free time Bill enjoys trips into the city, cooking and thinking about his next Halloween costume.

Christine deGroh - Treasurer

Christine is happy to serve as the Treasurer of the Haldane PTA. She and her husband, Mark, are proud parents of two children at Haldane. In her spare time, she loves gardening, hiking, tending to her chickens, and spending joyful hours painting and crafting with whatever materials are at hand.

Mark deGroh - Recording Secretary

Mark and his family have lived in Nelsonville since 2022. He and his wife, Christine (see above!) have a 7th and a 4th grader at Haldane. He also volunteers as a member of the Board of Trustees at the Haldane School Foundation and the Putnam History Museum and as a CYO basketball coach at Our Lady of Loretto.

Bryan Jennings - Events Coordinator

Bryan and his family are going on five years since moving to Cold Spring. They love it here, particularly his second grade son, who can be found running amok on the playground or scraping up his knees on the blacktop. A lifelong devotee to the arts and live music, Bryan is happy to support the PTA mission by helping to organize fun, meaningful events for the Haldane community.

Stefan Danicich - Corresponding Secretary

Stefan and his family found the Hudson Valley paradise that is Cold Spring way back in 2017, which feels like a lifetime ago! He and his wonderful wife wound up with two hilarious and talented children who are both enrolled at Haldane Elementary.
Ivy is in “Grade 4” (as they say in Canada), and Russon is in “Grade 2”.  Stefan will be Corresponding Secretary for his second full year after assisting Marcie in his introductory year, and is taking on the task of rebranding our PTA via a new logo and hopefully some new, cool merch!  When Stefan is trying to not get injured playing with his over-40 soccer crew, he can be found in the village indoctrinating the neighbo(u)rhood children in the finest of stick-wielding sports, hockey. .

Marcie Rummell - Elementary School Vice President

Marcie and her family have called Cold Spring home for 10 years. She feels fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. Marcie has two boys, William and Finley who are in the 6th and 3rd grade. Marcie has been on the PTA executive committee for 5 years and is excited to once again fill the role as Elementary School Vice President. Marcie is looking forward to enhancing more communication between Haldane and Families and to volunteering with such a wonderful group of people.

Kira Onodera-Harrow - Middle School Co-Vice President

Kira and her family moved to Cold Spring in 2024. She has a 3rd grader and a 6th grader at Haldane. Kira is passionate about building community, equity and supporting working parents as well as our inspiring teachers. When she isn’t helping her clients organize their homes, she enjoys watercolors, yoga and flower arranging.

Alyia Cutler - Middle School Co-Vice President

Alyia and her family have called the Hudson Valley home for the past decade. She feels grateful for the chance to support Haldane with such an incredible PTA crew. Alyia is a parent of three, a social worker, and sits on two other local boards. When she’s not working, volunteering, or driving her kids to every activity across the Hudson Valley, you can find her out paddle boarding, playing mahjong, or tending to her hens.

Sammy Coleman - High School Co-Vice President

Sammy and her family have been living in Cold Spring for 7 years. She has two daughters, Everly in 6th and Edie, in 9th. Sammy is also on the Sustainability committee and is a member of the EDI committee. When she's not volunteering, she's busy running Understory Market, a low-waste market on Main Street. Sammy loves bringing the community together and is looking forward to volunteering with the amazing group of people on this year's executive team.

Ana Silverlinck - High School Co-Vice President

Ana Silverlinck has felt lucky to live in Cold Spring with her husband, kids and collection of pets since 2007. While it feels like just yesterday that she walked her kids up to Haldane for their first days of kindergarten, they are now 6th and 10th graders.  In addition to working as a local realtor, Ana volunteers for The Midnight Run and Beacon Prison Rides. She also enjoys the quintessential Cold Spring activity of hiking in the Nelsonville Woods.

Maria Elena Hardman - Sustainability Committee

Maria Elena and her family have called Cold Spring home since 2013. Her kids have been lucky to attend Haldane since day one of kindergarten and she has been able to enjoy having them move up through all the schools and experience the many great opportunities and teachers HCSD has to offer. When she is not tending to the sustainability committee, attending or volunteering at other school or community events, you will most likely find her on Main Street, saying hello to ALL the dogs, and most definitely with knitting needles in her hands.

Erin Muir - Garden Committee

Erin Muir and her family have lived in Cold Spring for 11 years. Her two children love attending Haldane in 7th and 4th grade. She is inspired by the Haldane School Garden and is happy to help keep it blooming.
